Rejuvenated and Motivated, by Misa

Happy Tales to You -_-
Which way to ReJuVeNaTiOn?
We stayed at Country Woods Inn, a fantastically quaint bed and breakfast right along the river and steps from the river walk…
We dined at…
and…
We walked…
We wrote, laughed, bonded, ate some more (junk food junkie weekend, baby!)…
We drank vino and diet sodas...
We brainstormed…
We ate cowboy hat cake...
We met Santa Fe Joe…
We hung out in the Chapel by the Woods…
…and had an all-around inspiring time.
I came away with a brand new cozy mystery series proposal which I L.O.V.E. What a way to charge into the holiday season. I feel rejuvenated and motivated.
When was the last time you went on a weekend getaway, and did it recharge your battery?

What an awesome weekend! I'm already planning a trip back!!
I'm with Tracy, already planning a trip back. It's a nice stopping point to my trip to Austin. Research. That's what I'm calling it. Research.
That looks like so much fun, Misa! So awesome that you're feeling inspired! Love your pics. I'm looking forward to kicking back this weekend and recovering from deadline-itis (book is due tomorrow and I finished last night, thank goodness).
Sounds like you had a wonderful time! Just one question, how do you talk Carlos into holding down the fort while you're out? Just wondering if there are some good lines I can borrow! LOL : )
I just got back from Crime Bake where I met Charlaine Harris, Dennis Lehane, and Julia Spencer-Fleming, and am completely energized! Oh, and I saw the beautiful and talented fellow Stiletto-er Rachel Brady. I've written about 5000 words since Monday. Never underestimate the power of hanging out with your writer peeps! Thanks for the great pix, Misa! Maggie

I agree, Misa. The weekend was perfect. It was wonderful getting to know you better. I enjoyed myself, even enjoyed the attack by the phantom also known as Kym!
Wait a minute…where's the picture of the dinosaur footprints?
Sounds like you had a great time, Misa. You do realize that our expectations for your next book are waaaaay up there now, right? LOL
What a wonderful pictorial of the weekend! Actually, my last getaway weekend was last weekend getting the oil changed and shopping for furniture – I kid you not. It was a great escape from the computer – lol! But we do get away about away every couple of months or so – really need those getaways!
Thanks for stopping by, y'all!
Anjali, hmmm, I think C was ready to see me go for a weekend *wink*. He got to spend time with the kids and I came back happier. Win-Win.
Great getting to know you better, too, Jerrie!
And Jeannie, yummy, yummy cake!
Congrats on finishing the book, Susan! You deserve a break, and just in time for Thanksgiving. Perfect.
Zita, I am working hard to live up to those expectations!!! Yikes…
But thrilled to hear you'll be reading the new series.
Kathy, not sure changing the oil and shopping counts, but I'm jealous that you get away every few months! I think it's so easy to forget how energizing girl-time can be, and how we are women and friends, as well as wives and moms.
Me, too, Tracy!
Maggie, I LOVE coming back from a place like that totally motivated and raring to go. Sounds like you had a great time, too!
Terrific weekend. The perfect blend of friendly folks, beautiful surroundings, and quiet writing time. Loved it.
What a great time! Writing, good food, friends, and my own ceiling fan. It was a slice!
Phantom Kym checking in to say I loved eating yummy cakes, scaring unsuspecting women in the night, shopping and getting great bargains, eating more yummy food at Hollywood and Vine and the Storie Book Cafe, and just hearing the sound of a gun go off again. Oh yeah and getting an awesome query letter written that I'd been struggling with while laughing and eating some more with my bunkmates!
It doesn't get much better than that, unless of course my bunkmate was Duwayne Johnson!
Kym 😉
My second attempt. Boy I wish it was easier for me to respond to these things. Love, the pics, Misa. I missed my New England fall trip, so this helped a whoel bunch. Great, colorful trees, wind, river, bolders. That's what's inspiring to me. Well, and all the neat people we got to hang out with. Sorry I didn't rescue you from the scary phantom lady, Roomy. I thought it was kids playing. Oh, wait. That's what it was. You can be a kid at any age, right? Great post, Misa. Marsha
About to leave on another trip to the windy and cold city. Hope to have tons more writing time.
Missed the junkfood, but managed to drop another pound in spite of the chocolate-covered strawberries!

I'm so happy that you had an inspirational girl's weekend and came back with a proposal. I can't wait to hear more about it when it is sold.
I had a girl's weekend several months ago and I came back with a new agenda and I'm working to make it happen.
Dru, what kind of new agenda?? Do tell!
Phantom Kym, you are so spooky. Were you even there?
Good for you, Anji!
Marsha, Glen Rose is a poor substitute for fall colors in New England, but we'll take it!
Regina, congrats again on your own great accomplishment.
Marty, you and your nest… you were happy!
Misa, I had a swell time!
What a great location…and though Glen Rose is a poor substitute for fall colors in New England, I came back rejuvenated.
Thanks for the chat and the encouragement.
Gina
Any weekend with a bunch of writers is rejuenating and this one sounds like it was definitely wonderful.
